    Charity Spotlight

    Believe To Achieve

In 2022 we celebrated raising more than £16,000 for our nominated charity Believe to Achieve in, which is located just two miles from its main hub in
    Millfields Road.

Believe to Achieve was founded in 2001 in Wolverhampton to support vulnerable children and their families.

It plans to use the money to fund counsellors to continue this vital work, which includes everything from supporting young children with mental health issues to those involved with gang culture.

The team raised the money with a series of events across the year, including its annual golf day, a hub-to-hub cycle ride and its end-of-year shareholder gala.

    Charity Spotlight

    St Basils

Teeing off, using pedal power and sleeping rough were just a few of the creative ways we raised nearly £23,000 for youth homelessness charity St Basils in 2021.

Our team chose St Basils as its nominated charity last year, supporting its work helping young people who are homeless or at risk of homelessness across the West Midlands.

A variety of fun fundraising events took place, including a 127-mile cycle ride from Wigan to Wolverhampton and our 15th annual golf day, with wide participation from the team and our shareholder members.

    Members Spotlight

    SSO Logistics

Rapidly-expanding Merseyside haulier SSO Logistics was able to create 12 new jobs when it joined Pallet-Track from another network in May and it has already seen growth in its first half-year as a member.

As well as boosting revenues, the St Helens-based business is cutting its carbon footprint thanks to its close proximity to Pallet-Track’s northern hub.

Its new premises are located just two miles away from the northern hub in Wigan and have enabled it to cut out empty running, the costly and environmentally damaging practice of returning from a drop without a payload.

    Hear from our employees

I have been at Pallet-Track for over a year and work as Night FLT driver. My main role is loading on the outside canopy and blocks. This task helps manage space in the hub and stops lanes from overspilling. I will call for trailers to pulled on and off the canopy and as part of the loading team we ensure that there are enough drivers on each trailer to keep the hub flowing. We take pride in our contribution to the operation and there is a friendly atmosphere on the hub floor. The management team including supervisors and team leaders support us and feedback regularly on our performance, they are also open to listen to any ideas we have on improving the way we work. Pallet-Track is a great place to work

    Night FLT Driver,

I started at Pallet-Track as a Night Scanner in 2005 at the old site in Wednesbury. I have covered many roles over the years; however, my main job is scanning freight on the inbound & outbound gantries. I get tasked with inducting new starters and showing visitors around the scanning gantries, explaining the scanning process. Some of the nightly tasks include, trunk audits, re-labelling, identifying damaged freight and helping direct trunk drivers into the hub and dealing with queries. Communication and teamwork are key when scanning trailers in & out. We get nightly feedback on our scanning compliance from the management team. Our hard work is recognised by free hot drinks and Food Friday and other employee benefits such as Health Shield.

I have worked at Pallet-Track for 6 ½ years as Night FLT Driver in the central hub. I work in a fast-paced environment. We have a good team of highly skilled FLT drivers, and we support each other throughout the night to help us hit our trunk departure times. Teamwork is essential and we all take ownership in our working areas. The management team are supportive, respectful and will always take time to acknowledge our achievements. I have recently completed my shunters course to help support the yard team when required

    Night FLT Driver,

"I joined Pallet-Track in 2014 in the Operations Team. Pallet-Track was a fantastic opportunity to work for a friendly, well-established company with a youthful, forward-thinking outlook. The people at Pallet-Track are what makes the company a great place to work for as it is like working with family. No two days are ever the same and the people really do create the high’s and help you through the low’s."

    Operations Co-ordinator,
