Pallet-Track Purchases Horley Road Services

Wolverhampton-based Pallet-Track has made the unprecedented purchase of Horley Road Services Ltd, a four-generation, family-owned business located in Surrey.

The business, founded in 1946, is located in Redhill and specialises in next day and economy pallet deliveries throughout the UK and Europe.

The announcement will see Pallet-Track TUPE over all existing members of staff in early 2017.

However, the move is not the start of an acquisition strategy, according to Pallet-Track founder Nigel Parkes, who said this week: “We have agreed and signed a deal to acquire Horley Road Services which includes transferring all the staff and assets to Pallet-Track during January 2017.

“Pallet-Track is more in the business of bringing new members into the network – we have introduced five this year alone. However, Horleys, represents a strategic acquisition, and very much a one off, but this was a too good to miss opportunity and one that will help us reinforce our presence in the all-important south-east of the UK where we already have 10 other member companies.

“Since the business was created in the late 1950s, Horley Road Services has established a strong and stable presence along the M25 and M23 corridor and this heritage of great service will complement our offering in and around the capital and boost the Greater London service out of the Pallet-Track southern hub.”

“In December last year we introduced another big name into the pallet network in the shape of Alan Firmin Ltd which is located in the Kent area. This also underlines our ambition to make 2017 another growth year for Pallet-Track,” added Parkes.
