Wolverhampton-based logistics specialist Pallet-Track will be supporting WellChild as its 2017 charity partner.

The announcement follows last year’s success, which saw Pallet-Track raise £11,000 for The Sick Children’s Trust, a charity that provided invaluable support to network member Roy Dowen’s grandson and his family while he was being cared for at Addenbrooke’s Hospital in Cambridge.

This year, Pallet Track will be organising and hosting a number of fundraising activities to raise money for WellChild, whose patron is Prince Harry, and provides much-needed support to families with children living with serious illnesses or complex care needs across the UK.

This ranges from a network of WellChild Children’s Nurses, who provide vital home care, to undertaking essential home and garden improvements to create practical environments.

Kate Acutt, senior fundraiser at WellChild, said: “There is a growing number of children and young people across the UK living with serious illnesses or significant health needs, many of these spend months, or even years, in hospital because the support to enable them to leave is just not there.

“WellChild’s purpose is to give these children and their families an improved quality of life by providing them with the support to live safely at home as a family.

“Last year, we helped more than 1,290 children and we’re delighted to be Pallet-Track’s charity partner, as with its support we will be able to increase our reach even further.”

Nigel Parkes, founder and managing director of Wolverhampton-based Pallet-Track, said: “Each year we choose a charity as the main recipient of our fundraising efforts, to help support their vital work.

“Having supported The Sick Children’s Trust last year, we were keen to continue the theme by supporting the valuable work of WellChild.

“The support that WellChild provides is invaluable to improving the life of families with children that have serious illnesses.”
