FLT Driver Challenge & Family Fun Day

The company’s directors at the 2013 Pallet-Track summit

What a day! The day kicked off to a flying start with the FLT Driver Challenge starting at 11am with the Linde team putting the FLT Drivers through their paces with challenging manoeuvring & stacking techniques to essentially gain a place in the Linde final.

Congratulations to the winners of this year’s FLT Driver Challenge. First place went to Dave Warkup of Depot 78 who won £500, 2nd place went to Steve Harrison of Pallet-Track Hub who won £250 and 3rd place went to Andy Banks also of Pallet-Track Hub who won £100.

Dave Warkup, Steve Harrison and Andy Banks have gained a place in the Linde Final on 16th August 2014 – well done and good luck.

With the atrocious storms of Saturday we were looking at contingency plans should the weather continue into Sunday but Sunday morning came with a little peek of the sun and by midday we were basking in the most glorious weather which added to the atmosphere for when we opened the gates for the family fun day.

We had stalls maintained by day staff with Pin the Tail on the Donkey, Hook-a-Duck, Football Course and a cake stall. Along with the stalls we had visits from DJ Dave, Will E Droppit, the animal man and 4 donkeys which proved to be a big hit with the children!

Through raffle tickets and stall sales we raised an outstanding £1008 on the day for charity partner of the year, CLIC Sargent for Children and young people with cancer.
